Well, since you all know by now that Capello has opently criticized Zlatan for being selfish, and none of you dare to post the article ...I will do it. Capello ticks off 'selfish' Ibra Tuesday 27 September, 2005 Fabio Capello has given Zlatan Ibrahimovic a clip round the ear for his “egotistical” behaviour in the win over Rapid Vienna. “We could’ve closed this game in the first half, but were too complacent and this isn’t the way we wanted to play,” said the Coach after the 3-0 victory. “It was tense until Adrian Mutu’s goal and we were thankful for Christian Abbiati’s saves.” David Trezeguet’s early goal gave them a slender lead until Mutu and Ibrahimovic netted late strikes to ease the pressure. “We created the scoring opportunities, but couldn’t convert them, and in football when you give your opponents a look in it’ll cost you,” added Capello. “ Ibrahimovic made two mistakes tonight and we will discuss it later, as he was too egotistical.” The Swede has often been accused of hogging the ball and he twice refused to pass the ball to a team-mate in a better scoring position. “I really didn’t appreciate when we went on the counter-attack with three against two and Alessandro Del Piero unmarked, but instead of passing it he tried to hold on and eventually lost the ball.”

Trez defend his forward teammate...
-------------
Trez supports goal-hungry Ibra Wednesday 28
September, 2005
David Trezeguet has defended Juventus teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic from jibes that he was too egoistic in the 3-0 win over Rapid Vienna.
Boss Fabio Capello was annoyed by the Swede’s selfish play at times last night, as he looked for his first Champions League goal since his arrival in 2004.
But Trezeguet insists that goal droughts are problematic periods for a forward to continue playing in.
"If a striker doesn’t score then he has just one thought in his head and that is that he wants to find a goal," the Frenchman stated. "He therefore sees things a little differently."

My take on the issue:
There was one instance where he should have passed the ball and that was the 3 against 2 attack where DP was in better position than Nedved. Other than that, Zlatan made many passes during the game - 2 elegant ones for Nedved - 2 for Mutu on the left side - he setup the 1st goal by making a fine touch pass (lobb) for Zambrotta who then just turned it over to Trez. He setup two breaks on the right side and shot the ball for a pass to Trez, but Trez was slightly infront. The second right side break was also looking for Trez, but Trez gambled on getting the ball in the center of the box instead on the goal.
The whole thing is a blow up from the media and exagerrated. Capello will always have an opinion on a play and that should not come as a surprise if he thinks the ball should have been passed sooner.
Capello was ranting on many other occassions during the game when other people misfired or made wrong passes. Remember, Capello just wanted to win this game early on, that was his GOAL. He didn't want the team to get bogged down for 90 minutes of hardship. The only problem was that Rapid Wien was a GOOD fooking team with speed and intensity for 90 minutes. I saw the whole game for a second time, and each time Juve players moved, so did Rapid players. Capello saw that his players were being matched throughout the game, and thus his frustration grew as Juve players (including Zlatan) could not finish. There were several close shots just outside the box that could have easily been a score. Emerson had 2 or 3 chances. Nedved had at least 2 chances.
So, in perspective, Capellos rant about Zlatan is more of a reaction on the game as a whole, and in due part of Juve not being able to score more goals in the 1st half.
Trez knows exactly why Zlatan took his chances. It all makes sense - Zlatan was the leading scorer during pre-season. After 6 or 7 games he has only been the supporting attacker with no goals, in due part of not being lucky enough but also a bit clumsy. He has been dying to score in a CL game, which he knew he should have done during the first game in Belgium. This game was just a result of his hunger for scoring.

Capello is very hard with players, no doubt about that , David and Jonathan, and Patrick said it the last week. Capello wants just to motivate players that's all. And Zlatan hogging the ball , it's his tyle and capello won't be able to change this. You can't stop a tiger to hunt so you can't stop Zlatan to score goals.
